Yes, for Mike it was love at first sight. Apparently it's a scooter, which has made Serious Bikers laugh at Mike's choice. Because I'm not a biker I can see the practical side and am looking forward to the challenge of learning to ride pillion when the weather warms up a bit. Scooter? Bike? Who cares, 600cc seems powerful enough to me.
And we're back, parked on the exact spot we left on the Aire in Platja D'Aro . Just like any holiday it feels like we never left and we slept like logs back in our own bed again. We left 4 months ago, almost to the day and in our absence from the van visited 5 countries, on 3 continents. Our journeys comprised of 8 trains, (including 2 Chunnels ),10 buses, 8 planes, 4 luxury coaches, 2 unluxurious coaches, 11 taxis, 1 cruise ship, 3 metros, 3 car hire, and 2 someone else's car. No wonder we suffered aches and pains, but how did we decide what to pack? Meanwhile, our van left in secure storage on the Costa Brava in Spain. Started first time, thanks to the solar panel, all batteries fully charged and no mould in the fridge. That really is a miracle after 4 months. I'm just summarising our great good fortune this winter. Let the good times roll.
I love travel, any type. There is always a buzz in finding & exploring a place for the first time, meeting and making new friends and if you return things are never quite the same.
