many thanks, Ali
- There is a debate in parliament on May 4th as the government want to stop paying student nurses a bursary to do their training, instead they will replace this with a student loan. A newly qualified band 5 staff nurse earns £21 900 per year. Working in healthcare isn't about the money but does this salary reflect the responsibilities and demands of the role? When in training much of the student nurses' time is spent on unpaid clinical placements. That's why they receive a bursary. Please take action to stop this unfair proposal.
- I just sent an email to my MP calling on them to attend the debate on student bursaries. It only took a minute or two using a model letter - please take the time to do the same.
