Happy Anniversary Motorhome Lifers!
As I was researching the revamp I discovered that websites can generate a considerable source of income from advertising. With this in mind I contacted another full timer through their website to give me an idea of how much this could be. When he replied that he only earned beer money I thought that would do just fine. Ever been into a pub lately? Look at the price of a pint these days. In summary I haven't reached the payment threshold yet from Google and someone bought something on Ebay last year using the link from this site and I got paid 6p. I don't think beer has ever been on sale anywhere ever for 6p so it's a good job I wasn't relying on it. But, it's been a great year and as always I'm not moaning as we are so fortunate to be able to live the life we choose.
Unfortunately we often miss some of the best life events and parties because of our nomadic ways. By way of a quick introduction Laura is Tim and Debs' eldest daughter and Tim is one of Mike's closest friends who he has known since school. Luckily we were available and very pleased to be invited to Laura and Andy's wedding in East Yorkshire 3 weeks ago. The service was held in the church at Elloughton then we hopped on the coach that Debs had hired to take us to Rise Hall for the reception. In the evening Leeds DJ Drew Kingston kept the dance floor jumping, jiving, grooving and full of people throwing their shapes and moves. If you need a DJ he's your man. He did my 40th as well, which was a while back!
Last weekend I went on a little solo mini break to London and stayed with my sister Cath and her family. Their regular Saturday involves ice skating and of course I had to go and join in. I haven't been ice skating for 35 years and trod very carefully, Bambi Style onto the ice. I was amazed at how good I was. Within minutes I was looping around the rink at speed. With the thighs I have been blessed with and this fabulous talent I was busy imagining what a great career I had missed as a speed skater. This came to an abrupt end when my right toe pick clipped the ice and I came down with an almighty crash. Such was the impact I was relieved that the ice hadn't cracked as I fell, but blimey-I didn't half hurt myself. New bruises are still appearing every day and I've now had to book in to see the doctor about my ongoing sore left shoulder, which hurts properly now. In the evening I hauled my sorry self over to the Emirates Stadium to see Muse. They were performing at the home of Arsenal Football Club which has been rebuilt since I lived in London. It also turned out to have moved since those days and is now at the end of the street where I rented my first flat at the tender age of 18. Muse is my newest most favourite ever rock band and I really could go and see them every week. This behaviour would be Unsustainable (joke for Muse fans) Thank you to Cath and Andy for coming with me as there is no way I could ever persuade Mike along even though I've seen the Saw Doctors twice with him.
So, thank you for reading, please keep following us, stay in touch and let's see what the next year brings.
