Yes indeed, June 2015 was a month to remember in my calendar. I really had a blast and was surrounded by many close friends from all chapters of my life, as well as family. So many came so far, I couldn't believe my luck and all for little ole me!
The birthday celebrations kicked off when Jo and Mitch pitched up in Norwich, all the way from Charleston, South Carolina. A day later Ivan and Mark arrived from Mexico and then the partying could continue in earnest. Katrina surprised me by decorating the crypt at Bedfords for my party and I didn't notice the bunting until one of my fellow revellers pointed it out to me. Our dancing feet hardly stopped as Mike's talented nephew, Andrew Kingston of Leeds DJs spun the floor filling faves.
"The music was so good it was ridiculous"
For the holiday we hired a passenger vehicle to take our American friends on a road trip. This encompassed Beverley, Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Edinburgh and York. The weather was terrible but it didn't dampen our moods, and we crammed in some great site seeing including the Norwich Ghost Walk, fish and chips at Trenchers in Whitby (as recommended by the locals operating the bridge in town). We took the steam train to Goathland, and in Edinburgh toured the Yacht Brittannia. I became anxious in York as the sight of so many hen and stag do's could have embarrassed our friends from across the pond. Need I have worried? Of course not, Mitch settled in as though he was a part of a carnival.
So now the dust has settled, I share with you a gallery of photos below, as well as a desire to party like this more often.
